History

The origin of Noosa Junction

Noosa Junction began its place-making history in the 1950’s with the building of the first home and shopfront. Before that time, the site was little more than a junction of two dirt roads taking people to other places...

Shortly after buildings were erected along the street. The many clothes shops and cafes that now exist were once the site of petrol stations, general stores, squash courts and caravan parks.

The cinema changed the face of the town in the 1970’s and if you look closely you’ll see the handprints belonging to the celebrities of the day, etched into the entrance paving.

Fasinated with the characters and the story telling, a Noosa Junction Story was created and a number of personalities interviewed on video to share with our community.
