Junction Laneway Centre Stage for BMW X2 Launch

Noosa Junction’s first ‘Lane of Art’ took centre stage today, Thursday 1 March, with the unveiling of another first, the first-ever BMW X2. ‘CLO Lane’ was painted by Joel Birch, street artist and vocalist in heavy metal band The Amity Affliction, who partnered with CLO studios, Chloe Tozer, and Noosa Junction Association to transform a local laneway into a work of art in 2017.

Since then, the pastel shades of CLO’s Laneway have been home to Laneway parties, pop-up events and become a sought-after backdrop for almost daily photo shoots. This will be taken to a whole new level today with the X2 launch from Coastline BMW. The high-tech vehicle, billed as the ‘new kid on the block’, has created an international buzz and it was our turn to see it for the first time in Noosa Junction alongside the style of CLO Laneway and Studios.

Noosa Junction Association President Michael Tozer said Noosa Junction’s growing fusion of art, music and local village FLAVA has grown beyond expectation over the past 12 months.

‘The CLO Laneway has inspired the Junction’s ‘Lanes of Art’ concept, already breathing life into another nearby site, Cactus Lane, with more lanes to come. Local Joel, a supporter of the Junction community and renowned for his street murals, will be working with other local and emerging artists and mentoring young artists on future works. The project will also be a collaboration with the Creative team at J2 who are transforming ‘boring walls’ bringing more colour to the precinct,’ Michael said.

This unique Junction space growing in reputation caught the eye of Coastline BMW as the perfect site to unveil the X2 – noted for its interior design attention to detail and a bespoke blend of eclectic style, which is a perfect fit for us, CLO Studios, Chloe Tozer explains.

‘The Laneway provides a space for Junction businesses to work together and provides inspiring spaces for artists and our community,’ Chloe said.

Nearby coffee house, Cactus Lane, site of another mural, provided the coffee and our local The Ultimate Florist adding to the village vibe. The next Laneway party is scheduled for Saturday April 14.
CLO Laneway is located between buildings 8 & 10 Lanyana Way, Noosa Junction (across the road from Coles).
